Age of Worms
House Rules
Here is a general (though not exhaustive) list of house rules for Age of Worms. Remember, the DM is the final arbitrator of any rule—if a rule decision is made you disagree with, bring it up with the DM offline for discussion later.
- Most rules in the core rule books are used as written.
- PC death, instant kill spells, and resurrection are all possible in the game. PC death will generally not be random, but doing non-smart things can get your killed pretty quickly.
- Non-spontaneous spell casters must prepare their spells as normal. Two
important notes on this:
- Scrolls are an excellent way to prepare rarely used but occasionally crucial spells.
- One can choose to leave a few spell slots unprepared; it takes between 15 minutes and an hour to fill those slots at any time (PH 178).
- Dice that fall off the table or land on edge are re-rolled.
- Please make good use of the take 10 and take 20 (PH 65) rules when possible.
- Eberron uses its own version of the action point system (ECS 45).
Cruel Dice summarizes many of the details of the above rules, but please be aware of the differences in house rules between the two games!
